PhD Student

In 2016 I obtained a B.Sc. in Biophysics by Al-Azhar University in Cairo with a global qualification of Excellent with Honors (1st rank). In early 2017, I occupied a teaching assistant position at the University of Science and Technology – Zewail City, then moved in late 2017 to the National Research Center (NRC) of Egypt as a physics research assistant.

By September 2018 I´ve completed my degree in the lab under the supervision of Dr Canals, with support of an international scholarship from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).

My master thesis entitled “Using Machine Learning to Combine Neuroimaging and Microbiota Datasets in Alcohol Use Disorders”, co-supervised by Dr. Canals and Dr. de Santis, received an outstanding qualification.

Currently, I am a fellow of La Caixa INPhINIT program (EU- Co-funding | Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions) to complete my doctoral studies in the lab, working on radiomicrobiomics, a novel way to investigate the gut-brain axes.
